Accident Insurance
ACCIDENT INSURANCE HELPS WITH UNEXPECTED EXPENSES
This coverage pays a benefit for specific injuries and treatments that result from a covered accident (for example expenses related to emergency room treatments, X-rays, or fractures). You can use the benefit payment however you’d like, including paying for out-of-pocket expenses not eligible for benefits from your medical coverage.
There are two coverage levels available through Voya Employee Benefits (Voya)—Low and High. The benefit payment varies based on the coverage level you elect and the type of treatment you receive. Be sure to review the certificate of coverage for a complete description of the benefit available (access the certificate of coverage posted here).
Coverage is also available for your spouse/domestic partner and /or child(ren) under the same coverage level that you choose for yourself. Your cost for coverage—which you pay for on an after-tax basis through payroll deductions—depends on the coverage level you elect and who you cover.
You can use the benefit payment to help pay for items such as:
- Deductibles and copays
- Your mortgage or rental payments
- Travel expenses, for example if you’re receiving care in a different city
- Everyday expenses such as utility bills, electricity, groceries, and gas
- Lost income due to missed time from work
