Decide what will best support you
When considering your coverage options, do so carefully
Here are some tips to help you through the decision-making process.
Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverages
Keep in mind, you and your eligible dependents are automatically enrolled in medical (including prescription drug) and dental coverage when you first become eligible. You must elect vision coverage. If you waive any of these coverages when you’re first eligible, you can actively enroll if you experience a qualified life event or during the Annual Enrollment period.
Your medical, prescription drug, vision, and dental coverages under the Mondelēz Global LLC Group Benefits Plan (the Plan) are administered by Aetna International. See Aetna International on the HEALTH page for more coverage details.
Key points to keep in mind:
- Think through the potential tax savings of contributing to the Health Care Flexible Spending Account (Health Care FSA): If you’re a new hire, note that any amount you may have contributed to a Health Care FSA since January 1, 2026 (prior to your employment with MDLZ) will count toward the annual contribution limits that apply. If you decide to participate in a Health Care FSA, plan carefully. By law, you'll forfeit any amount for the year left in your Health Care FSA after the claims submission window ends on March 31, 2027.
Note: If—as a MDLZ employee residing in the U.S.—you were enrolled in one of the two medical coverage options that’s paired with a Health Savings Account (HSA) under the Mondelēz Global Medical Plan and you contributed to your HSA, you can’t enroll in the Health Care FSA until the next plan year. Due to current law, you can’t contribute to an HSA and a Health Care FSA in the same plan year.
- Consider whether additional disability, life, and accident protection makes sense for you: Understand what coverages you automatically receive from MDLZ, and the options you have to purchase additional coverages. If you’re a new hire, you have a one-time opportunity to elect certain Optional Life Insurance coverage amounts without having to provide Evidence of Insurability (EOI). When you first enroll and during Annual Enrollment, be sure you review your beneficiaries and update them if needed.
- Don't wait to start thinking about your financial well-being and future financial security: The 401(k) Savings Plan can help you meet your goals. As an eligible U.S. outbound expatriate, you may already participate in the 401(k) Savings Plan. If so, your eligibility continues with all the options you had prior to becoming a U.S. outbound expatriate.
If you’re newly eligible for the 401(k) Savings Plan, automatic enrollment applies at the time you’re first eligible, unless you actively make a different election.Note that you can opt out, increase, or decrease your contribution rate, and change your investment elections at any time.
Enroll when you’re newly eligible or during Annual Enrollment:
- Critical Illness Insurance: Provides additional financial assistance when you or a covered family member are diagnosed with a covered illness or condition (i.e., cancer, heart attack, or stroke).
- Hospital Indemnity Insurance: Provides a daily benefit payment for your or a covered family member’s covered stay in a hospital, critical care unit, or rehabilitation facility.
- Accident Insurance: Offers a benefit payment to help with unexpected expenses related to specific injuries and treatments that result if you or a covered family member experience a covered accident.

Participate any time throughout the year:
- Auto and Homeowners Insurance: Offers discounted coverage for your car and home, including renters and liability insurance.
- Discount Program: Offers exclusive discounts on everyday products and services through PlumBenefits.
Key points to keep in mind:
- Have you considered the added financial protection from Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity Insurance, and Accident Insurance? How about the ways you might take advantage of other voluntary coverages such as those through Auto and Homeowners Insurance and Identity Theft Protection?
- Other Programs: Don’t forget the variety of other Programs and Policies that are in place to help support The Right You. These include a Discount Program through PlumBenefits; a Paid Time Off (PTO)/Vacation Policy, Adoption and Surrogacy Assistance Policies, an Education Assistance Policy, and a Scholarship Program.
- The Contact Info & Apps page includes how to access the websites for each of the above carriers/benefit vendors—where you can find additional details. For information about the PTO/Vacation, Adoption and Surrogacy Assistance, and Education Assistance Policies as well as the Scholarship Program, see the Employee Center (these can vary across MDLZ).
Key points to keep in mind:
- Consider using the well-being tools and resources: The Right You's initiatives are designed to support all three pillars of well-being—Mind, Body, and Connection.
- Lean on the support available through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP): There are a variety of support resources the EAP provides to help you balance family, work, and personal needs.
- Eligibility and coverage: To confirm your eligibility and the coverage options available to you, go to MyBenefits Online.
- Dependent verification: You’re responsible for ensuring that each dependent you enroll for coverages through MDLZ (i.e., medical, dental, and/or vision coverage) meets eligibility requirements at all times. “The Mondelēz Global LLC Group Benefits Plan Wrap Summary Plan Description (Wrap SPD)” details dependent eligibility (access the Wrap SPD in the Reference Center on MyBenefits Online).
